Here are some of our latest reflections on our learning this term...

I enjoyed dancing with Nicky and with my partner.  I really like the actions from the song because I like dancing.

Array for sushi!!!

When Ollie had his sushi delivered for lunch, he noticed that the pieces were arranged in an array.

2 rows of 3 = 6 or 3 rows of 2 = 6

...and then he ate it!  Yum!!

Hurray for arrays!!!!!

In Maths we are learning about multiplication.  We have been sorting materials like blocks and counters into groups, and into rows.  When we have can make equal rows of numbers from the whole amount, we call it an array.

Take a look at what we did with the materials.

Best Dance session yet...

This week was our best Dance session yet with the University of Auckland students.  Ebony and Nicola listened to us last week and when we asked for singing to go with our dance... we got singing!
We added some new things to our dance today around the theme of friendship and it's coming together well.  Just two more practices before we perform!

See how we got on this week!

Room 10 visit Te Tuhi

On Thursday we all went off to Te Tuhi in Pakuranga to learn even more about colour mixing and to see some of the great Art displayed there.
We had some mums with us too:  Mele's Mum, Piriththigah's Mum, Ranay's Mum and his Aunty.  Here are some photos to show our colour wheels.

Picasso, Picasso, Picasso...

We have been studying the work of the Spanish Artist Picasso.  We started by looking at some of his paintings... and writing down our thoughts:

This is cool because it has colours.
Alabastar

She looks like she's going to sleep.
Megan

I like this because it has bright colours and look like a rainbow.
Lani-Mari

I like it because it looks real.
Oliver

I like this Art because it looks good.
